Older children, and those who are part of brother and sister groups, wait longer to be placed with their forever family.
We are urgently looking for prospective adopters who can provide a safe, loving and secure home for Carter (9) and Aurora (5).
Meet Carter (9)
I am a funny and curious little boy. I am very keen to learn about new things and like to ask questions about what is happening now and in the future. I enjoy using my imagination to make up maps about ancient Greece or design new planets in space. I also like to play games on my phone where I can build and create things. I have a brilliant memory and can remember exact dates when things have happened. I also enjoy playing games and hide and seek with my little sister.
The people close to me say I am a cuddly, funny, smart little boy. My foster carer and my social worker say I am an amazing and very special little boy. Everybody who gets to know me, falls in love with me and talks about me very fondly. I often have my foster carer and social worker laughing at how I say things, they say I have ‘Carter-isms’.
Meet Aurora (5)
I am a bubbly and sassy little girl. I love Disney princesses, especially Moana and love singing Disney songs. I like watching videos on my iPad as this makes me feel happy and relaxed. I like playing with teeny, little toys. Before coming into foster care, I couldn’t speak at all, but now I love to talk.! I like colouring and cutting out my drawings. I love it when my big brother does silly things that make me laugh.
The people close to me say I am a happy, silly and brave little girl. My foster carer and social worker say I am an amazing and special little girl. All my teachers at school love spending time with me and making me laugh and everyone says how I have the biggest and most gorgeous smile. Sometimes I come out with funny sayings that make my foster carer laugh like ‘you have got to be kidding me!’.
Background
We are both of mixed heritage, our birth father is white British, and our birth mother is Thai. We have always lived in the Northeast and English is our first language.
Although we are nine and five, we may, at times, act or behave younger than we are. Aurora can sometimes find it difficult to explain what she needs and my (Carter’s) Autism means I think about things in special ways.
